2046 VISION OF THE FUTURE
Wurundjeri Country, Birrarung / Yarra River, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

BY ANONYMOUS

It is early morning in a park along the Birrarung, and the world is still mostly asleep. I am standing beneath the trees, tall and ancient. Above me, the canopy spreads wide and generous, and through the gaps between leaves, strands of golden light filter down from a sky still carrying the faint red glow of a rising sun.

The air is fresh and spring-clean, carrying the scent of grass and trees, with the occasional trace of moisture lingering from last night's rain.

The birds are already awake. Four of them dart and flit through the openings overhead, small, black, lively, more energetic than you'd expect. I can hear their wings cutting through the air if I am still enough.

I am still enough.

In the far distance, through the trunks, two figures run along a path. Their footsteps faint as they pass. The whole morning has the quality of something just beginning, not yet decided.

I stand here and look up into the canopy, and feel the particular peace of being very small inside something very old and very alive.

It is a peaceful morning. It is enough. It is more than enough.

PROMPT: Early spring dawn rises over a serene park nestled next to the Yarra River, Melbourne, 2046, with the viewpoint looking upward from beneath ancient river red gums whose vast trunks stretch towards the sky, and a lush green canopy spreading wide overhead. Hazy golden morning light with a soft bokeh filter gently filters through the gaps between leaves, while a faint red glow traces the dawn horizon through the same openings. Two willie wagtails, small and black with swift movements, dart and flit through the overhead canopy. In the distance, two tiny figures run along a winding path, barely visible through the trunks, as the air carries the scent of wet grass and eucalyptus from last night's rain. The scene is captured in cinematic photorealism with high dynamic range, ultra-realistic 8K detail, a touch of film grain.
